What is the National Redress Scheme?
The National Redress Scheme (NRS) provides support and compensation to people who have experienced institutional child sexual abuse in Australia.
How Do Our Team Help?
The RAATSIC Redress Support Service is a free service that provides support to people who wish to apply to the National Redress Scheme by providing:
- Counselling and support throughout the Redress journey
- Connection with free legal support through Knowmore
- Yarning about your options and referrals for ongoing support
Am I Eligible?
You can apply if:
- You experienced institutional sexual abuse before turning 18, and
- The abuse occurred before 1 July 2018, and
- You were born before 30 June 2010, and
- You are an Australian citizen or permanent resident when you apply, unless an exception applies to you as a former child migrant who:
- was sent to Australia from the United Kingdom or Malta prior to 1984,
- arrived in Australia without a parent or guardian, and
- were made a ward of the state.
